Peng Liu has been reappointed as Raymond G. Tronzo, MD Professor of Cybersecurity in the College of Information Sciences and Technology. The professorship — named for late Penn State alumnus Raymond G. Tronzo and is funded through a $1 million gift from his wife, Diana — was established to help IST recruit and retain leading faculty in support of the Cybersecurity Analytics and Operations bachelor’s degree program.
Liu was the inaugural recipient of this honor in 2018, and this appointment renewal will enable him to continue his work in cybersecurity research and innovation. He is also the director of the Center for Cyber-Security, Information Privacy and Trust (LIONS), which conducts interdisciplinary research in cybersecurity and privacy and plays a leading role in helping Penn State pursue security and risk research and development opportunities that revolved around the Department of Homeland Security, the National Security Agency and the Department of Defense.
