The College of Information Sciences and Technology wants to partner with you to make your students’ transition from high school to college as seamless as possible. Below are links to information that will help you work with your students as they consider IST in their college search.
Review the information below and visit the Undergraduate Admissions Office website for more information.
Admission and University Statistics
Review the University’s enrollment statistics to help your student compare their high school record with the academic credentials of our incoming first-year class.
Transcripts and Self-Reported Academic Record
Students who are interested in applying to Penn State no longer have to submit a transcript at the time of application. Instead, they will submit a self-reported record of their academic performance to date at the time of applying and will be required to submit a final transcript at the end of their senior year of high school. Review the following information about Penn State’s use of a Self-Reported Academic Record as part of the application.
Application Review Process
Students are evaluated for admission based on both their academic merit and co-curricular record. Visit the Undergraduate Admissions site to learn more about the application review process.
Help with the Penn State Application
The college application process can be overwhelming for a student, particularly if they are the first person in their family to go to college. If you have a student who needs step-by-step instructions on how to select an IST major on the Penn State application, have them contact the Undergraduate Recruiting office directly at futurestudents@ist.psu.edu.
