Cost and Aid

We understand and appreciate that finances play an important part of the college decision process. Review the resources below to explore your options and help you make an informed decision about supporting your education.

Tuition and Costs

Tuition and mandatory fees are set by Penn State’s Board of Trustees each July. These rates vary by campus, student level, program, and residency. Visit the University Budget Office website to view current rates, access a tuition calculator, and learn where your tuition goes.

Scholarships

Thanks to the generosity of alumni, friends, and corporate partners, Penn State and the College of IST are able to offer a number of scholarships to our students. Full-time students enrolled in the college who meet the eligibility requirements will automatically be considered for scholarship awards, while some scholarships require a separate application. Students will be evaluated for either a need-based scholarship or a merit-based scholarship as determined by their financial status after completing the FAFSA. Please note that the majority of IST scholarships require students to be eligible for a Pell grant. Learn more about College of IST scholarships and for questions, please email: scholarships@ist.psu.edu.

Student Aid

The Office of Student Aid offers information and guidance to help you pay for college. From grants and scholarships to loans and work-study opportunities, explore the resources available to help you stay on track toward your degree.

Submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the only action required to apply for most financial aid at Penn State. However, some private scholarships and Penn State scholarships require separate applications.
